Mardanna Phool

Mardanna Phool — "the masculine flower" — follows men on the street: the vendor setting up his cart before sunrise, the postman, the shopkeeper, the man who has spent decades providing for his family without expecting recognition for it. The work turns away from the narratives most often attached to Pakistani and Muslim men, and toward something quieter like labour, routine, care. Flowers recur throughout the series, held or worn against weathered hands and bodies. Endurance and tenderness have never been opposites.
